I have rattle from the front of the car. It is mainly coming from the passenger side and Halle s when I’m going over a rough road. I have changed the anti roll bar drop links multiple times and have just renewed the anti roll bar bushes and it...

I know I should but I am an arse when it comes to trying to get things "right" and understand why they are not "right". A character flaw on my part I am sure. If other "mini-folk" tell me that this is not abnormal I can stand down I am sure.

You're correct on the incompatibility. The older conical fittings (NTC2927/NTC2928) are imperial, while the newer o-ring type fittings are metric, so they won’t interchange. Swapping the old oil filter housing won’t work due to the different...

They look very acceptable, especially as the condition of rings and bores is an unknown, if it runs well enough for your liking, leave it alone and go and enjoy it !

Get yourself a DC Clamp meter and test the current draw at the battery, they are very useful tools to have anyway. Something like this one should be OK https://amzn.to/3GzvATs Be wary of using a standard multimeter as the current draw when...

Seriously, those don't look bad at all. It may now be down to valve disparity. I.e. slight difference in how they seal. Recheck the tappets and compression on all cylinders. If you are seriously that bothered, nothing there to worry about.😉

I am happy to be corrected by other members more experienced than me as I am involved with the older end rather than the newer end. But it was my understanding that a 4 bolt box was a 4bolt box and they were the same from the very first defender...

The vehicle is a 2006 model year as confirmed by both the VIN and DVLA. The "LY55ZKS" plate is an age related registration issued when the car was imported to the UK in 2018, reflecting its original build year (late 2005 or early 2006). The...

That is the same design as mine is with the clamps to hold it in place. As mentioned above on the thread there are older versions that were designed to be bolted to the gutter rather than clamped in place. I was careful to avoid these when I was...

Hello and thank you very much for your quick replies ! I've read about the one wheel up test and will do it tomorrow first thing. Although I've also read that if it's stiff it's not significant as the cause may be from different sources. I'll...

I am still battling with the Mini's carburetion. I put all brand new BP6ES plugs in and I have "tuned" it myself (Go Me eh?) according to the SU workshop manual for the HIF44 carb. It goes really well with no apparent performance issues but when...

@James Brake as others have said rebuild or replace with another 1.8 is the easiest approach. Then sort the IRD & Prop, etc. A donor car would help you a lot & potentially provide many bits you're gonna need or break off-road. Also this forum...
