No experience of either but the X Defend just looks quite weak to me... is that going to withstand more than a minute or two with a grinder? Probably not... it looks like you could just cut down one side of the hinge and then effectively only...

Nothing showing on the gear stick, and D1 doesn't have any display on the dash. Will have a better look at the weekend then with a bag of spanners, as luckily this one is used to cut the field so it's not abandoned on a road somewhere

I have the X Eng big bulky thing. It does its job but is a pain to store when not fitted. I’d opt for the folding version.

As the title says, I have a 1997 300 TDI auto and last night the gear stick went loose as if it's disconnected from the gearbox, as I cannot select any gears. It starts and engine runs and revs quite happily. I think it must be stuck in park as...

That will be the next step, check continuity from lamp output to switch, yes Diff lock lamp works. There doesn't seem to be any power to the lamp, so I'll need to take the fusebox off to check if anything is disconnected there. All good fun.....

Ardcase. You have to store it once removed looks harder to get to pedals.dows not cover bonnet release cable lever. X-defend folds onto floor, quicker easier to use. Pity they can’t use an Oxford type bike alarm that if it’s tampered with it...

If you need to prune on a regular basis would be worth investing in a mulcher then spread it in the garden as mulch and be more green

Hi everyone, I am going to get one of these but undecided, can you advise? I know the Ardercase is newer, and a little concerned that the lowlifes may have more experience in removing the older X-Defend pedal lock. What are your thoughts...

Condenser replaced, took it to the garage for them to nitrogen test - left for 3 hours and didn’t drop a single PSI. Regassed and I’ve got lovely cold air again. Finally*. *until the next thing breaks

Hi All, Recently picked up a left hand drive 1990 90 with the 2.5 TD imported to the US from Italy. Engine has around 85k miles and was supposedly rebuilt around 80k. I recently fitted a catch can as I thought oil was leaking out of the bottom...

Find the colour of the wire that comes off the bulb and work towards the switch checking for power. Not many joins to check. I normally check the main bulkhead connections & then by gearbox. Does your diff lock light work? Could you use the...

I cleaned it with isopropyl on a cotton bud, which seems to have improved it. So I'll give it another go with the toothbrush 👍

Personally, if it's going well I wouldn't touch the mechanics, still relatively low mileage and you're probably driving it sensibly so in theory, good for the same again. Bodywork is where I'd be watching.

Not to disagree, but Tornados own site says it is worth tuning..... "However the dominant characteristic is actually a huge hole in the torque curve, centred around 3000 RPM. This is filled in very well with the upgrade, delivering an extra...
