There were two types of mounting on Brownchurch racks. One was the clamp type, which has a small section of tube welded to the outside of the leg and the other was flat feet with holes which require the gutter to be drilled. You have the latter...

Thanks. Sadly Horseshoe Lane has a Voluntary Restraint on it to drive it West to East. Think I'll have to plan to return at a quiet time and try it the other way round though. Bit of a lack of passing places if you meet anyone, so can see sense...

FEI replied to the thread P38A Tuning the 4.0 thor.
As far as i know its only tornado thats able to "tune" the bosch ECU's. Without doing the cam its virtually pointless to tune the ecu. But these engines are good ones to learn on, they still quiet simple and there is a huge amount of resources...

Hey guys, Ok so, new power steering box (4 bolt), new fluid, everything pretty much brand new.. defender 90 200tdi Steering holds it's position, it's tight = but not tight in a way it doesn't want turn wheels etc, tight as in its responsive and...

If I plan a route I never know if it’s good 1 way. Do look at contours when planning. Make a few notes about sections & if there is more about being better the other way you can reverse the map direction. Just need to remember road junctions &...

+1 on doing the brake bleed procedure as per Rave. If you think youve got all the air out on a step give it another 5 pumps and more air will come out.

lol, cliff notes: When in neutral the vehicle does not move, putting it in gear and it works. :D
  • 300bhp/ton
While laning this year we also did the famous/infamous "Bastard" lane, properly known as Horseshoe lane. It's another one of those lanes you see people driving badly on YouTube and making a complete hash of it. You can see it on the ground too...

The transfer box needs to be in gear for it to move, be that hi or lo. If it's in the 'neutral ' position it won't go anywhere. Try 1st gear on the main gearbox and hi on the transfer box and see what happens.

Did you paint the frame or fit a new one? Mine is rough, asked YRM if it's something they would consider doing and they said no not at the moment which seems a bit daft to me considering it always rusts to hell.

Glad you figured out the problem. May be worth opening and trying another clean with IPA and a toothbrush if you can get at the actual contacts, worked for me on another car in the past.

Yes - nice to see some controlled and respectful driving. And very reserved vehicles that are simply capable. Vids like these make me want to get an old 90. My wife and my bank manager say different!

Think I've sorted my cruise control issue. Turns out the on/off button just needs a really firm press to turn it on. After that it works fine. Think I'll be ordering a new switch pack before too long as I don't think that is quite right. Thanks...

Good driving by everyone. I often see that lane on YouTube and quite often the jacked up monstrosities make a proper pigs ear of it. Have you got a What3Words location for it?

Weigh it up against the risks/costs of if it goes wrong and see how comfortable you feel. Not the most expensive job for a mechy that knows what he’s looking at. Saying that there’s plenty of good eyes and advice here if you post pics. These...

Bin stoopid hot here an all. Went for the usual monthly big shop and lunch at our fave place. Before that, as the sales are on, (dates ruled by the gubmint, so much for "Liberté, Fraternité etc") So W's annual trip to the specialist bra shop...
