Hi guys
I'm late to the party, but an interested bystander. If the immobilisor was the issue, I am sure the engine would not crank (see workshop quote below) so fuelling must be the issue as others have remarked. Your own diagnostic tool will...
I initially thought it was the white/red cable from the ignition switch getting re-energised. However, that's not the case. The ground (black) cable is getting the juice and causing the relay to re-activate.
It's definitely re-energising. If you remember, initially I thought it was something else.belt driven, but it's definitely the starter restarting. Not a good sound to hear (or smell to smell!). Removing the relay and using the jumper solves it...
Thats an 85Ah battery so should tast almost twice as long as my previous estimate.
I would think that is the case ...
Measure the voltage, Disconnect and measure the voltage again.
Wait over night or 24 hours, measure the voltage and re-connect...
Thank you for your reply, Miktdish.
I’m not entirely sure if I’m interpreting it correctly, but as I mentioned in my previous message to Nodge, the sticker on the top of the battery reads “1108.” I’m assuming that means it was manufactured in...
Thank you for your response, Nodge.
I had a look at the battery — it’s a Bosch S5 010, which I believe is the correct type for the Freelander 2. I also noticed a date label marked “1108,” which I assume indicates it was manufactured in November...
Off to kip in a short while. Will be gone until Friday morning as I am off camping it up on my trike till Thursday pm. ;)
I hope all goes well for you all and the heatwave abates but does not turn to rain (very important while triking in the...
Don't know if this will help but a couple of years ago my 2a would spin over slowly only if it had a fully charged battery after checking connections and replacing starter solenoid I tried starter with good jump cables direct to a battery...
Typically the battery reccommended for the TD4 is a 60AH type 027.
The Boch variant (Bosch S4005 Battery) fits that criteria.
So 60AH.
This means you can draw 1 amp for 60 hours although the battery will be 'flat' after 40 hours.
You'd need to...
Are you sure the starter is re-energising or is it just still running?
Aren't some glow plug relays timed, as in they stay on for certain amount of time even if engine is running.?
As I said in my first post "Also check fuses, I seem to remember each headlight is fused separately."
If you google "land rover defender fuse box diagram" it show that there are individual fuses for left and right, dip and mainbeam. So 4 fuses...
This post began with a problem with starting and has morphed into other head scratching mysteries. The problem I am now having is related to the starter circuit - but slightly different.
Just to recap, after fiddling with wires behind the...
For the noise, it could be related to either the turbo or the prop shaft, as you mentioned. I'd recommend checking the turbo hoses and pipework for any leaks or damage, as well as inspecting the prop shaft, especially the bearings and U-joints...
I bought quite a few rolls of this for doing my roof, sides, rear door etc... super cheap, super sticky and works really bloody well. The difference in noise before and after is noticeable and it's also made a huge difference in the insulation as...
It is an actual Land Rover part which isn't cheap for what it is. My son has one on his Ninety, I quite like the look of them but in reality are probably pretty useless.
Hi all so I need to know does anyone out there know which wire is the live to the sidelights or back headlight at the back on the cluster please which colour will it be please if anyone knows that would be great and which wire on the back will...
