Isolate the spotlight wiring for now and concentrate on finding your headlight problem first.

This is, for me, at any rate, the peculiar joy of a series. No matter how bad it is, no matter what the previous ten owners did, it can be fixed by me. And, if I do it right, the repair will last for longer than the life of most modern cars.

I'm an amature mechanic at best , how difficult is it to do the cam? I've purchased some land rover workshop manuals to try and teach myself, so I have a minor understanding.

I'm talking of an ECU tune on a dyno , if I have that done before a cam change , would doing the cam cause any issues?

So, just to close this thread with a defenitive update: She will get new 4-2 exhaust manifolds (the old ones are gone), a Weber / Edelbrock carb, full heat shielding and sound deadening, all of that this year. Maybe even a roof top tent...

Thanks for that. Even as a non starting pain in the backside she suddenly looks like Sigourney Weaver towards the end of Alien II. Battery taken back without a whimper and replacement checked in the shop at 12.8. We will see what tomorrow brings.

I would have thought so as a cam change will effect the characteristics of the engine on it's own. Thread carefully as the factory engine would have been to a spec. suited to the model. Remember Newton's third law

I am told by the galvanizing company to sandblast in order to remove the paint and the primer. Rust does not interfere in the galvanizing process.
