That's helpful, thanks mate. Insurance is a great point. 6-7k a rough number I've attached to the amount of work (including labour) that I'd want done to get it where I want it to be. Fully engine out rebuild - would have to budget on at...

Very nice looking Discovery, Green anorl what more could you want. I would always go with a vehicle you know than one you dont.... "a 90" is where the problem lies.... which 90 ? You may get lucky, you may not..... Disco is the natural...

Hi Nodge, Thank you very much for your reply. I got the Freelander from someone about a month ago, and he mentioned that the battery is approximately a year old. It's a Bosch battery, though I'm not certain about the specific type. Could you...

This is the one I have on mine. I know it is not strictly a Series 3 step but I think it looks ok and it acts as a useful rear bumper.

Righto people, really would appreciate advice on a bit of a dilemma. this is my 1994 Discovery 1, 3.9 V8 ES. It has done 91,000 miles with a complete service history. Condition wise it is very very good. Very little rust - and what little there...

They're just yellow Britpart ones - nothing special. Standard height. The last lot did me for 12 years so they're clearly not too bad.

Right! Good progress. Get those diagrams, well make life easier. Remove all the fuses again. Put one and only oneback. And see what happens. See what works. Now you know what that fuse does so take a note. Keep going until you get the spark...

Afternoon all. I’m due to change the belts on my Rover 25 Commerce L Series…..been 4 years already. It’s got an oil leak on the cambelt side, I’m not sure if it’s the rocker, cam seal or crankshaft seal. I’ve ordered all so I have them on hand...

That sounded like the problem to me. I had that challenge putting spotlights on my td5. On more modern vehicles (like the td5) the factory switches are all on the negative side of the circuit. On an earlier defender as the OP has will be on the...

I can find the S3 steps however because of the tow plate I cannot anchor to the captive nuts. It’s a new crossmember I could fit new rivnuts I suppose.

The folding step is what was/is seen on series safari models. STC7632 is one for defender but should fettle and look fine on series.

Number 3 is the pipe, but the parts manual also gives you the o-ring number from which you should be able to look up the size.

Surely will only have a fuel pump if other things are non-stangard. A 200tdi is a mechanical lift and injector so i would not expect an electric fuel pump. My additional guess to that list would be heated rear screen.

Hi everyone, I’m experiencing a significant battery drain issue with my Freelander 2 (2008 TD4 model). I’ve had both the battery and alternator checked by two different mechanics, and they’ve confirmed that both are in good working condition...

Update on this. I've now replaced the radius arm bushes and panhard rod bushes with genuine pattern parts and while I think it does feel a bit smoother on the road I've still got the same issue, albeit I don't think as bad. Redid the swivel pin...

I've had a go at the rear suspension bushes and ball joint. I last did them in 2013, so they've been good for 12 years. I did a whole thread on this in the autumn of 2013 so I shan't repeat it here. Plus I forgot to take very many pictures...
