Hi folks,
Limp mode without engine light?
Year ago went to limp mode, and was fixed by cleaning the inlet manifold. Now 20000kilometers later same symptoms without engine light on dashboard. What should I do?

My bet is the engine was replaced much later, Discovery only came on the market in 89 ish.
Mine is a 1990 Ninety with 200 fitted in the naughty's.
Last year recovered the center seat and had to use later type cover.
It can be a bit of a fight to...
Replaced the battery, same story! Nil fix.
Appears to be most prevalent when braking and not hard braking. Loose connection to something? If so what? Main screen and aircon fans - what is the common denominator?
FL1 had rover k series 1.8 and 2.5 petrol and L series diesel. Later on diesel swopped to the bmw unit Td4.
FL2 in the uk had volvo 3.2 petrol early on. Diesels were always the Peugeot DW12 badged as TD4, then later SD4 when the higher power...

i never realised that rover had the exact same engine in their cars and freelander marketed as the L series diesel, its odd they ran a timing belt on those engines instead of a chain and or gearing.
....as I am finding out - the hard way. 😂 Any examples of other differences I should be aware of, going forward.....? Yes, it's got a Discovery 200Tdi fitted (don't know when - '89 maybe?). Someone seems to have been very creative with...
Welcome to LZ.
I would be wary of over gearing it as you could end up with a 4 speed car as fifth will be unusable on anything that resembles a hill.
Considered an overdrive?
On the other hand ear plugs are dirt cheap.
I have a Defender 90 200 TDI with an LT77 and a 1.4 LT230. I enjoy travelling with it (camping etc) however especially when driving on the highway I feel that it revs too much to the point that it gives me a headache. I'm definitely consider...
Firefox has been a bust.
As soon as I tried to open a new tab on it it said "enter the URL or search with Google" at which point LZ would no longer open.
And I couldn't get it to function properly anyway so I have deleted it.
So I am back on the...

I have decided that I will get my noo pooter out and open up an email...
...that in a surprise turn of events my wife was called by the medical examiner about her mum's "cause of death".

As above, yours is not Defender it is a Land Rover Ninety or One Ten. Your 200tdi engine is a later replacement for original engine. There are a number of differences with 83 to 86 trucks from later models.
Yeah, I've been asked if I'd sell mine by a couple of eastern Europeans I know over the years to do exactly that. Apparently it's a "relatively" straight forward conversion.
