Fantastic, thanks for the info. Apart from poor fuel economy and general inefficiency, is there any reason to do the APC urgently? If not, I’ll just ask them to do this during its next service, rather than pay to have it done separately.

Yes Sat night camping is the plan. That's not to say Friday night is a no no if you have far to come.

Be careful not to contaminate running surface if you add sealer [ original seal had a sealer already on the outside] Locating seal in housing can be done by careful tapping around the seal if seal fitting tool not available. One chap on here...

So. If you suck and then put your tongue over the hole to hold vacuum, does it hold or drop back?

Hi it’s running non cat map and no lambada it’s Hotwire maf setup. I have sucked on the advance pipe and I can see it advancing with a timing light.

I might be in Reading next week, but don't know what day yet. If you're nearby I can bring my Nanocom.
  • pwood999
Nanocom also shows BECM inputs including the window switches. That together with the ability to activate outputs to test the windows & locks means you can nail down where the fault is.

I'd do a leak off test on the Injectors, I've a client with the 2.4 duratorq lump. Rough idle and four injectors later it's fine. There is an issue we're a bad injector can ruin the block. There are a lot of folks reverting back to the later...

I thought it was all Ford until you got to the transfer box being landrover, hence the gearbox extension casing and silly output shaft that rips teeth for a living? 🤔

It sounds like the vacuum bell has rotted on the side of the dizzy. This will stop dizzy timing adjusting🤔 Does it have exhaust lambda sensors on it? Not familiar with this era but.... 👍

Hi, You should always put quality driveshaft. Don't forget that is a 4x4 with heavy angles, so aftermarket ones are designed to fit the car, not to comply to all constrains. If you can't find one, put a preowned one, you can renew the gaiters...

Looks nice up top, not so sure about the colour and the roof colour though. Has it got a galvanised chassis ? Heres a link to a rebuild thread ... https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/200tdi-s3-88-pas-long-travel-suspension-rebuild.298104/...

Just find all the srs plugs and hard wire them anyway. Have a client with a 2000 38'. Serious water ingress in the past. We just took all the connectors out for the srs system. Put an end to that issue. Check the bulbs and replace all of them...
