the temperature sensor under the manifold between 4 and 5 clinder can give wierd gearbox faults more in the high change range dont know if affects the engine running and also the timing is affected by the pressure reglated timing piston at the...
I'd definitely be looking at the wiring harness to the sensor. There's a couple of inches of wire from the connector plug itself that isn't taped in the loom, the plastic coating gets brittle over time and cracks then you get moisture ingress...
Hi unsure as was old owner. I have asked a mate to bring nanocom and another for his Hawkeye but awaiting them as said he did replace just sensor but no change so he then hardwired a new sensor. Still no change
You wouldn’t say that if you saw the rest of it 😂
… when we first moved here, I could actually fit a car in it. No chance now!
But yes, it’s nice to clean it up and have a sort out every now and then. TBH, I got all the tool chests 2nd hand off...
That looks like a splendid, well organised, clean, well stocked garage. The stuff of dreams for me in my penthouse flat with an on-street parking space.
I haven’t checked the resistance in the wiring but with three being same it made me think all four should be the same, so should it be two and two?
So the fault could still be on the right rear, the original fault location
The 5v supply is...
That’s what I was wondering to be honest. Maybe the old one was never firing up. It comes on with ignition live I.e. before you start it up. Thought that was odd.
I’m fairly sure it’s running sweet. Hasn’t spiked on temperature and doesn’t ever...
I scanned through this and my advice would be to definitely not buy one based entirely on the responses from the OP.
He's already decided it will be a nightmare so I don't see why you'd go into it like that. Hang on to your Subaru!
My 2010 Defender 90 has black fire and ice style steps. Seem sound, but both tubes and top plates are showing some corrosion and looking a bit tatty. I'm sure a coat of Hammerite will spruce them up. I saw a video on youtube with a guy...
update on my boy:
He's been released by the medics and they say his heart is OK :D
But... he has elevated BP and he needs that sorted.
The fact that he cannot take the nicotine vape-juice teat out of his mouth he has not disclosed to them.
But...
What are the codes that you got? I think you might be looking too deep into the issue here. We had similar on ours a few years back, it's not the always the sensor but quite often the wiring to it, there are repair kits available for that...
If the pump timing is way out or the chain has jumped a cog it can cause damage. Pistons hit the valves, pump backlash etc. typically it sounds like a bag of nails and jumps around a bit.
Even when they do jump a cog and it goes terribly wrong...
I don't have a problem with asking for different opinions but I wouldn't ask someone who's advice I'd ignored how to fit something someone else recommended.
I did think about turning it by hand but without sounding daft I'm used to TDI and td5 so when I saw 3 bolts on the crank pulley I wondered how the hell I was going to do that.....
Is there anything that can "jam" a TDCI if it's not actually seized
