Hello, please be gentle as this is my first post here!
2010 Discovery 4 TDV6.
Had a code stored relating to the right rear level sensor, so replaced, on a road test the suspension fault message came up, and the suspension crashed onto it's bump...
Just to offer a conclusion..
The backbox including the 1 damaged tail pipe was lowered and cut off. Then, a genuine, used backbox was welded on. This was then correctly installed
Hmm maybe. I’ll run for bit but thought I would’ve noticed before. Unless it’s on the wrong way which it surely couldn’t be 😂
It’s Nissens rad. Bloody minefield trying to work out what to buy. I check it all over enough and have low coolant...
have stripped out all the split chargs stuff etc and now have a single battery, took the battery from my series 3 and connected it up to the +pos first when i went to connect the -neg got some nice sparks, not the fearce dead short but enough to...
Understood and agreed, the US market only got the petrol v6 version. The vehicle has an automatic gearbox and the clutch comment was from the mechanic who determined the clutch was not functioning properly (not really sure how he determined)...
UPDATE safe to say the following ****ing out of the front cam cover seal and the vacuum pump return.
I’ve ordered new seal, however the vacuum pump return, I have left this to the garage as it seems like a nightmare to do.
Do they not start in the "locked" position then go lose shortly after?
I thought in general they usually fail in the lose position.
Sorry for the crap technical terms, engine bay looks proper tidy.
What brand rad did you buy in the end?
I think only the V6 was sold in the US and they were only automatic.
As you say clutch, that means its not a V6 so was never sold in USA.
The V6 diff will be identical, and the V6 IRD can likely be used, although they were different part...
There are lots of "2002" L Series F1's over here, and K Series of the same model year.
Don't think I've ever seen a 2001, so they were obviously a batch sitting "somewhere" on the planet and ended up being sold for the first time here in 2002.
Does it turn over by hand?
I am not sure why the RAC or recovery guy would run an engine with the oil pressure light on.
It might have had plenty of oil but if it isn't circulating around the engine then it's not doing much good.
You will need to...
Evening all!
Really hoping my 110s engine hasn't had it but I'm going to post what happened and see if anyone has any advice/ideas:
Right so parked up, sounded a bit rough but nothing mad, no smoke or loss of power etc....turned her off and went...
Asking for opinions and 2 or 3 on here suggested going one way with the battery. On the other fora, 12 people went a different direction with different opinions. I'm not able to predict what people say in advance and I canvas a broad set of...
Definitely go back to the single factory set up , use the wiring diagram and go through a process of elimination.
See if any of the wires are melting or extremely hot to touch
Did a 5 mile runs in Son & Wife's Freelanders. Both on local roads & couple of miles on a dual carriage way. The MPG was done using my Car Scanner Pro app on iPhone with a Tonwan bluetooth OBD dongle.
Wife's = 3-door, 2005 (1st picture)
Son's...
Got a spare on the scrapper but that's done over 170k miles too. A lot of it in London so probably almost gone.
I might have to swap it just to get through the MoT test.
Hey All
I have a UK version Freelander (2005 Mk1 TD4) with several drive train issues. One of the bolts broke off the flywheel and rattled around in the transmission evidently causing the clutch to fail.
Additionally the IRD is not...
