Pressure tester arrived today. Not sure if I'm doing this properly - I've sxrewed the test cap on and tried pumping some pressure in, but the air escapes straight away before any pressure is built. It looks like a simple device - screw on...

It's amazing. All you need to ensure is that no one has been there before you and fractured it already !!!

Short video above, no annoying music this time you will be pleased to know. Filmed on my old handheld digital camera so quality is as good as usual.

Funnily we do have those although, as you say you can avoid the areas usually. BUT I have recently heard that they are going to scrap them! so maybe not urgent now. Son who lives on the outskirts of Paris doesn't have one and doesn't know anyone...

Well, you say that but I had two leaking injectors and a leaking injector pump after being refurbished by Diesel Bob. Although he honoured the warranty I do wonder if I would use them again

Has anyone ever made a bush type thing for the lower gear lever ball like below in the pic, my gear lever hasn’t got one and this has been the source of ear splitting machine gun rattling , I’m thinking about a bit of pipe heated up and the...

Ceramic grease is best to use, because copper grease can react with the differing metals of the glow plug and the engine head.

Hi All, I have a 2014 Metropolis with the lovely LED signature lights on them. However, the passenger side unit isn't lighting up correctly. Not as apparent in this photo but it's very noticeable during the day or in your reflection on the car...

No - you can just undo the clamps holding them onto the subframe. You can get the bushes on/off with the bar in place. Before that, you might be able to find the source of your 'knock' by just prying around with a crow bar...

Yes, the engines are easy to add power to apparently although its the torque I prefer. They do check the cars thoroughly to ensure they are well maintained prior to the remap. They last did my Insignia SRI up from 165 to 209bhp on the Dyno.

I have some ARBs in the garage. I assume its best to drop the subframe to change them?
  • Freddie17
If it's only on bumps, then likely not the driveshaft. I'd look at the top mounts and the ARB bushes... If you do have to replace the mounts - try to buy genuine LR top mounts. I recently used new borg & beck mounts on my F2, but one gave a...

Hi All, just acquired a 2012 Freelander 2 after years of Jag and Vauxhall ownership. Had a couple of FL1's in the past and this seems a decent upgrade from memory. Planning a remap with a company I've used before which will lift it from 150 to...

yes it knock over bumps, but not sure if its driveshafts or top mount bearings? It started about 1000km after I changed the clutch. So wondered if the driveshafts went back in a slightly different position and has caused wear? I have tried full...

Hi. Went to start the truck to go back to work and on turning the key BIG cloud of black smoke from under the bonnet! On inspection found earth wire from starter solenoid to chassis melted! Would this be caused by sticking solenoid? Have ordered...

Had to remove 4 x glowplugs from my TD4 2005 recently. None moved and I know, from a bench test of a broken one, that they snap at 30 ftlb. I didn't want to break them so trawled for techniques that might work. This one looked reasonable and it...
