Alternator is definitely old enough to warrant new.
  • B
Have you got the original battery terminal clamps. If it's 12.whatever at idle it may not be alternator fault completely. Try take off all wires at alternator and clean and put back. Clean negative at body...clean all negative.

I have the later version running on my '99 (ribbed miror) car. It came off my 2001 parts car. I did it a while ago so can't remember precisely. They do fit and work, but the mounting is different. I believe the 2 rear screws are the same, so...

Changed that with the Yrm one. It was easy enough. Good quality part too. Meegos idea also works. Did the same with a bit of sheet Ali the size of the recess and with an angle at the end to rivet onto tub as well. Yrm one is actually easier to do...

I jack them up anywhere I can get a jack in, even with cars/boats never had an issue even on the chassis. If the trailer is old & looks doggy I jack them on the axles.

Went really well, for once Old Blue didn't put up much of a fight. Bit of a squeeze to get the new outrigger aligned but not too hard. The old one was so bad (no supportat all), you can feel the difference in the bends.
