Have you got the original battery terminal clamps. If it's 12.whatever at idle it may not be alternator fault completely. Try take off all wires at alternator and clean and put back. Clean negative at body...clean all negative.

There are loads of 2nd hand FL1 mirrors on ebay, but not so many with the ribbed...
I jack them up anywhere I can get a jack in, even with cars/boats never had an issue even on the chassis. If the trailer is old
& looks doggy I jack them on the axles.
Went really well, for once Old Blue didn't put up much of a fight. Bit of a squeeze to get the new outrigger aligned but not too hard. The old one was so bad (no supportat all), you can feel the difference in the bends.
