I did work it out once, but I’ve not felt the need to go and measure it exactly ever again. There are too many variances in the driving conditions to get an exact figure anyway - so it’ll change for every tank used. That’s close enough for me...

Thanks, but when you say stop/start, you don't mean that button on the dash that says that do you? Do you mean this weird thing where some cars turn their engine off whenever you stop at lights?! That whole concept makes me shudder! See, I'm...

Mine is manual with stop/start so the road tax is £255 and insurance is £247. It's a bog standard gs 150bhp.

Just be mindful that it won’t have the same ground clearance as a disco. It has good clearance, and probably plenty for what you want.

    Great tips thanks very much.

2.2 TD4 (it’s either 150 or 160 hp, can’t remember) has plenty of power and grunt, will give you the best mpg. And will happily sit on a motorway and keep up with the rest of them, or plod along on cruise and watch the world go by. They can have...

Thanks. I thought manuals should be a few mpg better generally too so maybe I will stick with that. But if I can find a nice one that I can afford, I suspect I will take either auto or manual as I'm not sure it will make much difference. I do...

Thanks, was actually about to ask, I have no clue what engines/models/specs there are, so was going to ask which models to avoid (if any) and which are best.

I’ve driven autos for the last 15 years, and my daily is a bmw EV, but my FL2 is manual. It’s fun, and you have a little more control on the slippery stuff. They are also cheaper 😉

Just look around for a good one - with known history. An SE will have the toys you want without breaking the bank 😉

DAMN - Forgot to ask, are we talking Auto or Manual in the two replies above? And that's actually a point I should have mentioned. I generally always preferred manuals. I suspect if I hadn't had a Disco I would still want manuals always, but I am...

They stop spit - nothing else. They don't stop anything, but they can cause bacterial lung infections and hypoxia etc if worn for too long. It was all a massive hoax. I could explain it in depth but this is a Land Rover forum. I never...

Bloody hell, that's MUCH better than I was expecting. My Disco is just painful now. Spent so much on it, it's a real beauty, but I just don't need its real world capabilities and would much rather something a bit lighter and easier to drive on...

Hi A. I thanks for tip. Could be ignition barrel. Playing round in the sun today managed to get key to stay in position twice so got her rolling again which was a relief. Ironically I had new ignition key and barrel only a few years back...

Ok, I'll give you my answer. Get it MOT'd, it's got 2 chances. If it fails undo the changes you can, if not drive off laughing. ;);););)

Although they put out the idea that mask wearing was supposed to help protect the wearer, they were very inefficient at that unless they were the top class one worn by docs. BUT they were a lot more efficient at limiting transmission from an...

That'S he problem, I haven't had any answers yet to - anyone done the mods and been knocked back in the MOT.
  • Stanleysteamer
Well I hope you got the answers you were looking for and pass your MOT.
  • L
No it won't happen. This is all hypothetical 'stuff'. As I said, never had any EGR problems or any others with testing, but thanks for your time.

I posted on another thread my experience the other day where a D head ****ed off my local MOT tester who is a really decent bloke and would never be unfair. You could get yourself into a situation where you end up going to a testing station...

Hi level brake light has the usual damaged connectors in the heated screen. . Didn't seem to fail the MOT May just bypass that one day with a bit of twin core speaker wire. No earth behind the inner covers. Just realised that my tail lights...

I took mine off in 2007. Why should I **** anyone off? If I had an issue with them I wouldn't go back. It's that simple.

My passenger side LED headlight does not operate after 5 years of use. Switch position 2 and only driver headlight operates. Put beam on and all work. Multimeter on headlight connector shows power to one tab at position 2. Put beam on and the...

I think I found the problem. ANy advice on replacing it? And could anyone confirm that that is probably the culprit? Thanks a lot

Love it!!!!! Especially the fact that you don't have an "old can". What is worrying me is that you didn't have "sump plug key" on your shopping list. Cannot for the life of me remember what sort is needed for a Mini. Just checked 15/16 socket...

Yes, I know simpler things can suffice, but the catch-can + storage container (all in 1) will work for me getting the oil down to the tip to dispose of the used oil into their big vat thing. Yes to old cans being used once I have an "old-can". :)

If it's really a Ninety or One Ten then it will be a bit harder for people to help as they don't know what has been done in the conversion. If its a TD5 pretending to be a Ninety or One Ten it might be easier to diagnose. Might be worth changing...
