Has anyone got a picture of a new Mach 5 alloy wheel, fitted with the nuts that are supplied with them please? I'm about to buy either Mach 5's or Zu's also, I know that Zu's can be fitted with the nice shiny L/R ones but what are the ones supplied with Mach 5's like? Are they steel nuts that rust?

They are 21mm instead of standard 27mm an to be honest look an feel abit flimsy but they are alloy nuts anodised black

if you do go for the mach 5 alloys you'll have to get a new wheel brace

OK, thanks Lanny, is it these? ...

The only reason I'd go for the Mach 5's it because they're an inch wider and 265's will probably seat better on them, if I did I'd have to buy a new set of locking nuts too for another £50

yes they are, they have a load rating of 1450kgs which compares with only 970kgs for standard land rover boost alloys:cool:

Not sure what the problem is with 265's on 7" rims, people put them on all the time.

Personally I think standard Land Rover alloys look much better than those ZU or Mach 5's anyway. Sorry:D

Agreed, not all that good looking but, I feel a lot more confident In the bush than with the used Disco wheels that they replaced.

:d

Tyre fitter are not doing that much any more as tyre manfactures have a standard wheel width for tyres to be on. And any failure is on tyre fitters who have to take liability for there choices.

I have just looked up BFG All-Terrains on their website, and the recommended rim width is 7"-8", so at least with some tyres there is no issue. I had thought that it was 285's that need wider rims.

I just fitted Land Rover steel wheels to my Ninety (6.5" wide), and decided to go for
235 85R16 to make sure that the tyres were not too wide. I remember looking up 265's and finding that I needed a 7" rim to fit them. I'm not worried though as 235's should perform well in the mud. :)

Will do.

She is at Ziebart this morning getting undercoated, tryin to slow the rust down.

I Have the ZU's on mine with the 265 and they are working great asept from a chip off here and there from my bad driving.

I did just order the steel 8 spoke rims with the 265 BGF AT for my project I just have to wait for them to sail across to me know.:(

thought you had a serious question about you wanting black out on your tyres, no white letters showing:scratching_chin: they spray your bulk head a tillers to slow down the rust
