Hi all

new member saying hello. here is my story of woe.

Bought a defender from a pal for 500 quid.....just needs a few things doing to it.
Turns out this defender is in fact a cut down range rover chassis with a mix of series and defender body panels bolted / welded in place where ever they touched the chassis. fine says I, its still a landy aint it, lets get cracking. Spent a few days trying re-wireing the rear lights only to find the fronts dont work now. OK says I on to the next job, whys the steering a bit notchy. turns out the column is welded in place and the knuckle angle is far too steep, oh and the bulkhead is rotten anyway and the wireing is fooked. oh dear says I maybe this aint gonna be a 2 minute job afterall.

6 months later I now have a complete defender cab body mounted onto proper riggers with proper wireing loom and a 3.5EFi under the bonnet, poly bushed, new bulkhead, 2 inch body lift, lift kit, roll caged, the doors close and the handbrake works.

For the amount of money spent it would have been cheaper to just buy one.......but wheres the fun in that :)
