Calling all you good people out there. I know this bio/SVO/WVO thing has been done to death, but I would just like confirmation that you can shove filtered chip oil(etc.)in a TD5. I have heard so much conflicting info about the injectors really not liking anything else other than proper diesel. I am sure a definitive answer for me and other TD5 owners would set the record straight once and for all. Mines a 2001 TD5 ES with 112000 on the clock(looks like I'm gonner get screwed with 450 quid car tax soon as well) Thanks in anticipation.

If you run bio diesel you have to mix at least 50/50, there is a reason for this I think it rots the pump seals if you don't.

Unless 50/50 on an unmodified disco, it's a no-no, because the filtered veggie oil is too thick.

You can run your vehicle on straight recycled and filtered veggie oil, but you would have to install a kit in the engine bay to pre-heat the oil to 72 Degrees before it goes through the fuel pump and various filters and of course the engine itself. You would also have to install a kit so you can shut down and re-start the engine on diesel, as the oil would of course thicken overnight while the engine is switched off.

I have heard that a 50/50 mix could also damage your fuel-pump and clog up your fuel filters before long, but I do not have any personal experience on this.

Regards,

Anthonio
