Not sure on the legality of it but I just cited them to my 86 90 when I fitted rear seats as some sort of protection is better than nothing and s land rover fitted them it only seems reasoanable that this was the correct thing to do. Passengers must always wear them if they are fitted I do know. As for how to fit them I went to my local metal works and got them to make me up four 100mm square plates with 10mm hole in the center to reinforce the alluminum on the advice of a local landyzone dealer as the other way is fitting those bars behind the seats which is very complex and expensive

sfunny that - the Disco1 dicky seats have seatbelts - and they are side facing.
