I removed the floors and the seat and can see when I push the lever down what it moves etc

I was told there was a cover I could take off to have a look is the underneath ? The square cover ? It looks like this has oil in it , I'm
Looking for the bit where I can see the movement to see if it's jammed ? Argh ....

Any help appreciated

There's a cover on the front of the output box near the front prop.
Looks like
John Craddock LTD

The yellow lever should be moving a pin and as you move the red lever, you should see the shafts under the cover moving.

mite sound daft but is / was the yellow knob screwed down enough as if it was loose the spring / rod won't be pressed down enough for it to stay down.

also the spring that fits over the lever sits in a cup is the cup still present if not the spring will be loose in the hole and again when the yellow knob is pressed down it won't hold due to the cup being missing, hope this helps :)

I'm still having probs with this but going to try and sort it today

I can see the yellow knob moving and underneath I can see the links moving.

So to actually get into the box to have a look how do I get in ? I know someone mentioned an inspection flap but I can't find that either.

Any help or pics appreciated

there is a plate can be removed to see hi/lo selector further back om main box but apart from removing the end mud shield you cant get into the front output housing, the inner shaft is hi/lo the outer 4wd and center is a pivot between the 2 moving the pivot engages 4wd yellow knob controls that

with the covers off and knob and spring removed you will need to operate both levers at the same time so at the same time you push the yellow knob/lever down push the red lever forwards it now should be in high range 4x4 then at the same time you pull the yellow knob/lever up pull the red lever all the way back it is now in low range 4x4.

with all the covers back on and yellow knob/spring fitted if you push the yellow knob down it should lock its self in then to get it out of high range 4x4 you just pull the red lever all the way back and the yellow lever should just jump up then push the red lever all the way forward then you are back in rear wheel drive ;)
