any help welcome,:(

i cant seem to hold the yellow low range gear stick down on my series 111 keeps poping back out ,as soon as i pick up the drive she pops back up ,has anybody else had this problem just wont stay down:mad: wont stay in low range

the yellow one is the 4 wheel drive selector not low range, the red one is low and high range, when you push the red lever forward low range 4x4 will be selected and if the the yellow knob is pushed down at the time it will pop up as 4 wheel drive comes in with low range, is this why it wont stay in?? (also this is how you dis engage 4 wheel drive by seleting low and then high and the yellow knob will pop up)
If not and the usuall stuff is free (linkages etc) then i would say there is an internal fault in the box

thanks graham will have to take a look was havin a play today and maybe need to understand the system a bit better will have to ask brother-in law how he engaged but i could not get it to stay in ummm could be /hope is not to bad will let know

Now I am confused 2. Is that a typo or is my gearbox not standard. Mine is the exact opposite. If the red lever is forward and yellow is up that is 2wd and high. If I push the yellow down that give me 4wd high. I pull the red lever back for low which also pops up the yellow.

Is my gearbox odd or did u get you red nob the wrong way round? :)

Cheers,

Mike

I think your right beast i could of got it wrong, i was thinking back about 10years to when my dad had a series 3 but the general idea was there. I have a d90 and its forward for low so i think i may of confused it for that!!!

Ps also in my last post i meant to say the red lever is high 2 wheel drive and low 4 wd

Just a refresher for all of you.

RED leaver forward HIGH 2WD
RED Leaver Forward Yellow pressed down HIGH 4WD

To disengage 4WD High Pull red leaver backwards into LOW and the yellow pops up this is how you get 2WD again but remember to push the red forward again or you will not get home very fast.

4WD LOW is just the RED leaver pulled back into LOW range.

I usualy play about in 3RD or 2ND low range as my yellow 4WD knob don't work needs pulling apart and repairing. ONE DAY....!
