x-eng split charge

i am using this split charge on my disco an basically all i wanted to know is wether the 2nd battery will drain the main one.

cause i have just wired my winch to the 2nd one but before i got the split charge i only had one bat so when i parked overnight( winch wired to main bat ) it would drain the bat and when i come to try to start it in the morning the bat would be dead

also i am going to get a isolator fitted to the second battery and only turn it on when i go off road but will the split charge still keep it topped uo if its isolated??

if you've wired it up correctly, and you have no faults, your battery shouldn't drain!
if your battery was draining before, then you've got a fault somewhere.

the isolator should be fitted in the +ve feed line to the winch, leaving the charging line (from the split-charge relay) still connected to the secondary battery.
