Not necessarily true - you'll remember the white P38 from last year which most definitely was a real 630R despite having neither engine nor dash plaque ...

The badge was an optional extra.

There are several real OFs which do not have any outward signs of being so.

Any premium is due to the brand so it would need to be checked with records to confirm.

Incidentally, a side swiped OF classic was bought via Ebay a few months back and alledgedly all the parts are to be fitted to a basic Classic after which it will be sold as an Overfinch. I'm waiting to see that one hit the market and which dealer is behind this.

Depends whether you`re the kind of person who buys trainers costing £200 `cause you`re a serious sports-person or `cause you like the label on the outside. Why are collectors works of art worth so much? . . Because other collectors say they are! . . A bit like trading futures on the stock exchange.....

Yeah that's why fuel prices are so high. The stock exchange should be shut down and anybody working there jailed. Them and bankers take the **** out of ordinary folk. Hang the bloody lot of them.

Apart from the bit about futures being asset backed by the underlying product + an interest charge for future delivery

I would think that 'fraudulent' may be a more appropriate term.

Or that! Depends what they do - if they reshell the original then technically it is all kosher I guess, as they are using the original chassis, chassis number and engine numbers, which is what the Overfinch number will be 'registered' to I'm guessing?

If they are taking the engine, interior and a few other bits out of a genuine but written-off Overfinch, chucking it all in a standard Classic and then selling that as an original Overfinch then that's fraudulent for sure! But how would we know from an advert??

Indeed. But somewhere out in the home counties an old Rangie is getting all the Overfinch goodies from a wrecked one added to it and is going to appear up for sale wearing the Overfinch badges.

Unless of course, that chappie has a change of heart and decides to keep the car for himself and never sell it as a genuine Overfinch.

How do you know about it?!

Hi All,
I am thinking about buying the Overfich 630r on the net. I spoke to the seller today. He has all the paper work for it. I am looking for more info on the car. I called Overfinch today and they said they could not help me. They had no way of checking the cars of that age.
Regarding the overfinch in Ireland. I also spoke to the guy. He has no paper work for the car. It is a overfinch. The engine has been changed. He will not go below €6k. I have a number for him if anyone wants to give him a call. I would like any more informtion on the blue overfinch 630r if you can help. Thanks.

I saw it sitting at a garaged shaped like a banana and have a good idea as to who bought it and their track record with selling cars.

I saw it for sale (looked pretty decent pre-accident - I think the advert mentioned it had been stored for a while), but no idea where it may have ended up.

LOL - I love that term "stored" - means sat still, SORN'd, under a tree with a cat living on the bonnet and mice the airbox. Nice!!

It was a good example. Its trailer jack knifed on a run to Le Mans and turned it into the perfect oval racer, so long as it was going clockwise

After the incident it sat by the workshop while its future was decided.
