Afternoon All,

After losing my beloved 300tdi 5 months ago, and going back to a regular car 51 plate Laguna diesel, i am now really bored of it and want a Landy again....as I have no money, I am looking to swap and have been offered a 200tdi with 120,000 on clock but 12mths ticket ?? Mine is worth over #1800 ??

Would be easier to sell my first, but need to do it at the same time as have no other transport !!

What do you guys think...I need it for commuting and pulling horse trailer

Thoughts and opinions on comfort and family approval needed !!

Thanks

Pezza

200`s rock, jus make sure its a good`n! Id sell the frenchy motor then buy a decent 200! Comfortwise well the missus prefers it over all the vehicles we have ever owned! Loads of em about go for it! If ya gonna swap then ya want 12 months tax and a full tank of fuel on top of the mot! and 800quid! How old is the 200?? . . . . . . . . . .

I have a 200...

from what I've read, experienced and talked with my mechanic, the 200s have more robust engines, harder to blow up...dont have a leaky p gasket like the 300
and some parts are also cheaper..

my 200 has 212k miles and going strong...

Hi.

My attitude is to buy a 200TDi with a long MOT, for as much under £1000 as possible. Drive it till the MOT expires. then ask myself if its likely to pass another MOT. If in doubt, don't, save yourself £50. Either break it for spares, keeping the new tyres and battery etc, to go onto the next 200TDi that you are going to buy with the same plan in mind, or sell it to somebody who wants to asset strip it. Works out as not-to-expensive motoring. I'm on my third, which cost me £700 in May, and might even be worth testing in April.

It worked with MGBs, which were cheaper to buy than to get thru the test ..... until they became scarce.

Before making any decisions, ask your local body shop how much they charge to replace a sill. Sharp intake of breath.

You'll be wanting at least 1000 quid on top of the disco for your car if yours is worth 1800. A 200tdi disco is not worth very much these days.
