wot should show on the dash when selecting low rang on 2001dhse

hi ill start by saying my low rang dont work when selecting nothing happens at all. iv been told how to fix this. soo dont need to know about clunks and bangs.please could some one tell wot should go on inside the car if it was working as it should be. when i start the car all the lights go on the dash then go out i dont seem to see anything for the low rang no littel wheel like my last car and nothing lights up when changing over to low know flashing on the h gate or dash and no beeps i dont need help to fix anything as i have got as much as i need for now with help from every on here just would like to know how it should look when done my cars a 2001 dse thank for any info....jamie

In my '98 DSE, when you press the low range switch, it shows an orange sign in the dash that looks like some cogs. After being engaged it shows the text "LOW" on the LCD display.
After changing back to normal it shows "HIGH".
If you try to change to low/high with a gear selected it will show "SELECT NEUTRAL" on the display.

thank you very much for takeing your time and your info...thats the same as my other one... inn a 2001 there is no switch to push and it comes with t/controll i think with mine when moveing into low i think i should get a few beep something come up on the dash like the cog that you see and flashing lights on the h gate... im shoure its down to the ecu witch is going to be changed but woul jut like to know wot happens when its all working as it should bee inside the car thanks agen jamie:)
