Looking at buying a 2015 RRS Autobiography Dynamic. 3.0 V6 Disel. On a test drive, there was a wooshing or air sound on heavy acceleration? Any thoughts on this please.
Thanks

Would this cause the noise to sound like it’s coming through the drivers air vent on the dash ?
If only a hose, not to much trouble to get repaired ?
Thanks

If its on acceleration then it more than likely would be an intercooler hose, but with it being an L405 I doubt it'll be easy ;) .

Open the bonnet and get someone to give it a good rev the noise should be pretty easy to pin point with your head under the bonnet..

Is there a buying guide for used RRS ? Is the 2015 an L405 ?
Going to look at the car again before any final decision is made.
Thanks for the help Henry_b

The model is very new i doubt its been around long enough to warrant a Buying guide.. ;)

Personally there are quite a few around i'd have a look at a few others.

Hi

Plus 1 what’s been mentioned

If i may add make sure u have a warranty that also cover the crankshaft , when u do decide on one get an independent inspection done for peace of mind

Whooshing sound covers a lot of things, worst one is a cracked crossover pipe which is serious money so please take ur time as ur spending a lot of money

Out of interest , did the whooshing sound happen when u first drove it and then stopped , the viscous fan does start at max revs when first started then stops after a min or two

Its a bummer when you cant phone up CREME and "request" a guy to go look at something :(
Ours was a just a trip to the LAD or Wksp and a smile and promise of beer. Or in more recent years, a smile and a promise of getting them a space on the next spin class.
