won`t start

Hi all a newbie here, i`ve just got a R reg disco all went well till yesterday ! went out to check oil water etc etc all ok, moved it to let the other half clean it, then went to go out in it the engine turn`t over but it will not start

, had a mate to take a look at the electrics he couldn`t find any probs with it, then the key snapped in the ignition so need a new one where could i get a replacement as that was the only key.

PLEASE HELP.

Fuel problem? If its turning over, it just needs fuel and air to start. Try posting in the disco section, this isnt realy a common fault with the Tdi engine.

None of you guys had this problem? Have you got the milage greg? Give us some idea of the engines ware.

sounds like an odd problem! First things I'd check are that the air system isn't blocked (hella dirty filter?) and that the fuel pump is working and that there is sufficient fuel in the tank (Fuel gauges can be faulty!!)

could check to see if the immobilizer or alarm is at fault ... usual controls the fuel shut off valve ... just unplug the unit and plug it back in see if she fires up .. happens to me occasionally and really random.... John
