Bfg AT ko2's. Got em in 235/85 On my defender and ran them for approx 2 years on my disco. Awesome in the snow and gravelly stuff. Quiet on road I find. Not great mud pluggers but not m/it's are they

brilliant all rounders I think but not everyone likes how they look

Regarding toughness, my XZLs are ten years old, most of that has been my daily drive, fronts now need changing, rears are around half way if that
, I **** you not, they arnt cheap but I won't hesitate in buying more, and they also come in the equivalent metric size too.

Try rotating your tyres occasionally to prevent different wear rates.

The Fedimas I posted above are a fraction the price of the Michelins, but wear about the same.

. My heater is pants and my landy is noisy anyway, expect to have to buy a new canvas every three or four years, I use Exmoore but won't buy another from them and fit a ex military roll bar, make sure its genuine safety devices, it is nice in the summer, I have series doors that I can split which helps.

Not that fussed about what they look like just dont want to slide in the snow, big drops off the kent downs not good in a tin box roof side down!
And before anyone says it the kind of roll cage required to save you if you go off that edge is balls out dakar rally territory......
I drive with the door open, ice road truckers style if I have to

They are an excellent tyre, I have had good results with them before. And I have no use for them, as I gave my Ninety to my ex-wife as part of the divorce settlement.

Virtually unused, with brand new steel wheels and tubes, doubt if anyone would regret buying those.

You want a wide grippy tyre for snow on hills. I would be wary of XZLs on steep hills in the snow.

I would definitely disagree with this.
I run the stt pro in 235/85 r16 as a winter/greenlane/field and work tyre. I've yet to come to a grinding Hal with them yet, and that includes pulling a trailer with a chipper across utterly sodden grass, and up steep mud tracks. Aired down, they were surprisingly good in the snow that we had during the winter, especially for such an open tread pattern, probably because of the sipes in them.
I do however find them loud and uneconomical when doing alot of tarmac miles, hence, with all this dry weather I've stuck.my old grabber at2's on, nearly 2 mpg difference, and lovely and quiet!

Each to their own obviously, but ill probably buy the stt again when these eventually wear down, they look the mutts nuts too!

I like the physical look of them. Just unimpressed with how they perform vs other MT’s.

I do a lot of competition off road trials. And have seen them in action on the same terrain at the same time vs other tread patterns.

A Wrangler down the road also has them.

And while the older pattern, I’ve been running them for a few months. Just taken them off. Nice on road, but unimpressed in all off road conditions I tried them in.

lol lidl's have a mig for £65 clocked it today buying funnels for the workshop

Because they are thin they will cut through to more solid ground, or as the case may be the layer of compact icy snow which makes them lethal, ive spun off the road a few times now in the snow even though I was crawling along.

Yep me to, I won’t drive anymore in them in snow now. Quite good for general use and reasonably hard wearing, and not bad in mud tho

Not good matey, I did a 360 , bounced off the ditch into another 360, I am glad I bounced off the ditch and didn't end up in it like you did, scary stuff, especially in a rag top.

In deep snow though they arnt too bad.
