Well I thought I would vent my nervousness. In 6 days time I am rebuilding by defender 90 pick up. I have got everything I think I need the biggest issue which is making me very nervous is I only have 9 days off work! Wish me luck!

Not doing bodywork, I'll be changing chassis for one of RC's finest, other than that it will be clutch and it's components, crank seal, timing belt and p gasket, silicon hoses, new coolant hoses, new brake lines new disks and pads all round, genuine take off springs and shocks, all new bushes, new loom through chassis, all new bolts (bolt company on speed dial) new ball joints, new cab seals and probably more but I can't remember what else I have ordered!

There will be plenty of pics don't worry! Taking pics and keeping stamped part of chassis for peace of mind for the future!

don't think you'll do it in time :p

good luck, eat your shreddies as you are going to be zonked. you getting help?

Yeah my bro is coming down from Inverness to give me a hand so there will be two of us on it all hours of the day!

ah two of you should make it a lot easier :)

If you run out of time, just aim for having it drivable. You can always take bits and bobs off and replace them when you have time.

Ok....don't laugh...but 3 weeks full time, and then probably another 5 weeks evenings only! My biggest issue is that I need to rent space as my garage is far too small!

Oh and finding space to rent in the North East is like pulling teath!!

You doing body work too? And when you say full time? What's your "day" because I will be starting at 7/8 am and finishing midnight ish. I'm lucky....girlfriends folks own a farm with a fantastic workshop and more tools than you can wave a spanner at!

That's what I'm thinking, MOT is due on the 18th of march but it would be a little embarassing if it failed! Especially seeing the state it must have been in last mot! I don't think I'm being unrealistic with my 9 day target but I'll let you all know!
