Hi,trying to find the right section for my post? New to the site. Mine is a series 3 1974. I have identified and connected the indicator switch to all the wires on it apart from a plain blue wire. It seems to be from the headlamp flash section of the switch. Appreciate any advice and apologies if I am in the wrong section

+1 on Col's post. The blue wire goes to terminal 8 on the light switch. It's the input to the dip/main switch on the combination indicator + lights stalk.

where you have Thatcham in the top right of your posts the op seems to have pout his postcode, how I quoted your message from another thread I don't know I was trying to quote the first post in this thread. so I have altered that post to tag the op and booked into specsavers for this afternoon :D
Ah, ok. I thought I was missing something fundamental, it wouldn't be the first time.

Just wiring up my ex mil 109 now, going civvy and not too complicated but is there a wiring diagram about other than the one in the manuals because that one doesn't show any of the indicator switch wiring. ie the multi plug and the purple , blue and other assorted wires that come out of it. I know the blue one has been answered and thats a help but just want a diagram to follow really.
Thanks
RJ

Which manual do you have?

http://www.retroanaconda.com/landrover/manuals/series3wm/7_electrical_5mb_engine_supplement.pdf , pages 2 and 3 of that PDF (pages 86-6 and 86-7 of the manual) show a mostly relevant circuit diagram. The awkward this is that the stalk is split between switches 3, 25, and 30, so no easy to recognise switch unit with a muilti-way connector.

Or have I missed the problem?

Yes it is awkward just wondered if there was a better diagram anywhere, I've got the green book, the black book in a folder...even a hard bound red version but they all have the same diagram which doesn't show the switch as a whole.
I will work it out eventually but looking for a shortcut really as its giving me a headache (of course that might be the homebrew).
Edit : Actually that simple statement has made me look at it a different way I think its making sense now, thanks for that.
Cheers.
