So my 200Tdi 90 has an intermittant fault with the wipers, Quite often when going up or down main beam/dipped the wipers will give one wipe, pain in the proverbial and I've been replacing/checking earths all over the place, and now given up. This has been going on for something like 3 years, and every time I think I've fixed it it comes back. Am going to have the body off next year (been saying that for a while as well) so will redo a lot of the wiring then.
As a temporary fix what is wrong with me taking the fuse out (15amp IIRC) and pushing a crimped blade teminal into the live when switched side, a short length of cable with a spade to the now loose fuse, another spade from this fuse to a switch on the dash and return from this switch with a crimped blade terminal into the 2nd slot in the original fuse location. I know this is a bit Heath Robinson but it will do for the time being and the switch I put in will do for something else when I do her up.
Meant to say that in normal use the add on swich will be off, if I want wipers then both this and the stalk switch would be operated. Does that all make sense? Sounds like a logical and safe bodge to me. Funny what you think about when your fishing sometimes.
