WTF !!! How are those posts related. Am I missing something here.

And --- we don't like chequer plate much on here, but someone will probably tell you to look in the magazines or e bay.

Yes I obviously missed something as dufangover post has either been moved or deleted. Right, O.K. I'll get back into my nest now. Thankyou for having me.

Probably just the mention of the dreaded c*****r p***e was enough to send you over the edge for a while. Welcome back to sanity fella ;)

I'm not really into chequer either but wing top protection seems like an idea as it always gets used as a worksurface, mug rest, etc! I'm about to get a respray and not in a big rush to get new chips in it! Any supplier recommendations from you good fellahs? I promise I shan't be sticking any anywhere else!!! In fact I rather prefer the black plate!

Try a local metal merchant - the sort of place that knocks up stuff themselves and have a stack of sheet metal - will be far far cheaper than buying metal from ebay or ones pre-cut. I did toy with the idea of wing protectors as often resting tools, standing on it, etc etc...but then I thought nah it will look lame and do a good job of getting crud stuck under it anyway. And my wings/paint job are worth less than the metal I was going to buy!

Besides, if you are not in a rush to get chips in it, then why are you in a rush to drill holes in it for the rivets to hold the chequer in place?
