Hi All.Got myself a broken windscreen wiper linkage on my freelander 05 plate.How do i get the plastic caps off the wiper housing are they screw off??have broken two already

The plastic caps on the ends of the linkages are push on, when they wear and fall off you can buy a clip off ebay that holds them in place.

yes the trim that covers the motor and linkage.plastic caps with a hole in the middle...lol

You just lever them out (carefully) with a wide bladed screwdriver then push out the centre insert before refitting and pushing back in the insert.
If you mean the 6 plastic caps that hold the air intake cover... you can just replace the bits that broke (the top is so thin I don't think they're supposed to come off anyway) with a screw. Just as long as they hold the plastic caps. Makes it easier to undo next time

Taken mine off a few times to fix the wiper linkage, never needed new ones.

Agreed, I just used stainless steel self tappers on my broken ones.
repairing my linkage today ..
passenger side broke in pouring rain 3 days ago
plastic cover screws .. on mine .. are a 2mm allen fitting
ordered these thursday afternoon ..
both delivered friday morning ..
some repair 'clips' ..
and linkage rods ..
just in case .. as i'd not had a look-see at the wiper assembly ..
( the 'Amazon-dot-uk' links won't post for some reason )
wiper arms .. plastic cover .. wiper motor 'n linkage assembly
all came off easily ..
( yet to put it all back together as coffee break calls just now )
