Windscreen Replacement

Hello, sorry for sound a complete novice (but I am) I am looking to replace my 90 windscreen as the seal is extremely perished. Do they rot under the windscreen seals? Last thing I want to do is remove the windscreen to find it wont go back in as its rotten.

They can. Get yourself a new seal and see. It'll be easier in the long run

I've bought a new seal for mine, as mine is peeling as well! However i am worried, i don't fancy fitting or removing it myself? Does anyone have experience of this?

I'd go to Autoglass (Other firms are available), and try and speak to one of the fitters, NOT the Monkey behind the counter, them lads like a bit of cash in hand in my experience, and would probably sort it for you for beer money

parachute cord, fairy liquid and two people. loads of how to's on you tube.

edit your user cp, might be some one near you that could help.

Fitted loads of screens in the past but managed to break the one in my 90 just taking it out, even after cutting the old rubber. So we got the local windscreen place to put a new one in for us, even they struggled and said Defender screens were a bit of a pig to do as they are flat.

As for the screen surround, I think the frame is alloy isn't it, so unlikely to rust. It's the bulkhead below the screen surround that goes crusty, so you should be ok.
