Windscreen replacement off vehicle?

I removed the windscreen frame off the bulkhead today to clean it up ready for paint; the existing glass was removed as it's past it's best. Once painted, is it possible to fit the glass before I put the frame back on the bulkhead? I won't be fitting the glass myself, will get a pro to do it but with the frame out, I could take it to them.

For the same reason (painting) I have had a couple of windscreens fitted to loose frames, no problem whatsoever.
