Windscreen Fitting

My Britpart one has 3 grooves in it. It didn't come with a filler strip......more confusion!
you can buy filler strip separately as it is a generic part rather than land rover specific (a bit like window felts). I am sure a quick google will find you something.

IIRC there isn't a filler strip in the windscreen seal. I remember it being a bit confusing at first with having three grooves.
I am fairly sure there is a sealing bead, I remember buying the special tool to insert it specifically for the job.

Could well be right mate. I can only remember faffing on with filler strip and the special tool with the two rear alpine windows and the two rear quarter windows. Just remember pulling the cord around the windscreen and gently thumping the screen in to place.

I used a Britpart seal and got a local fitter to do it. Glad I did, it looked like a right pain! He really pushed the seal and screen to their limits! I left the seal in a bucket of hot water before he arrived.
It is doable, but I understand the fitter’s reluctance to do it with a non-genuine part.

Ok, so my seal with 3 grooves will be alright, and I don't mind fitting a filler strip, do you think the fact there is the extra groove will make it easier to get the screen in?

There is no filler strip on the front screen. One of the slots closes up when fitted.
Ah ha, ok, so that of course begs the question which slot ?? :D:D:D
I can see I'm going to have to have another look at it. Got the front hubs to strip on me RRC first though, and anyway from what peeps have said looks like it's a warm weather job anyway. It's just that as the thread was here I thought I'd ask. Thanks one and all for the replies. :):):)
