Window rubber surrounds

Hi
The window rubber surrounds have started to bubble and I am worried that the metal behind them is rusting,I would like to replace them but do not know where to get them from, I do not want to go to main dealer.
Any help would be appreciated thanks.
 
Trip to the scrappy for a nicer set £10. Just replaced the two rear door rubbers on mine, don’t believe what it says in rave, you don't need the windows out first, you only need to get them all the way down, not always easy in a scrappy with no battery, just take the door cards off and unbolt the window glass from the mechanism to drop it down. Start at the bottom of the seal where the join is and lift that part first, work your way round the open window to the top, you then need to pull the seal to the outside and push the window to the inside, pull the quarterlight window forwards at the top to rotate the whole thing out of the door. It might sound hard but the only tough bit is getting the new rubbers from the scrap car. If you need pictures I will post how I did it and all will become clear, from taking the old rubber off and cleaning and refitting is only a 15min job per side and no door strip down involved on your car.
 
The seams start to blister and bulge

When removed its not a pretty picture, get it checked asap.

Sand down any corrosion with a fine tool like a dremel and prime/paint, refit the old seal with a bead of general purpose silcone sealant (up inside the fold of the seam itself)......that will keep it water-tight for many more years

The seals are tricky to refit perfectly, they tend to kink/warp a little, hard to beat perfectly straight again

Thanks for that info,pics would be great I looked at the rave disc and it looked really complicated.
 
Start with the window glass all the way down. Then gently push the glass in and pull the rubber out the way, easy with the fingers but a spray of silicon helps, make sure you flip it out all the way to the bottom or it will stop the whole thing rotating as it will hit the glass.

Then start at the bottom and lift the seal from the door, there is a join in the seal if you look, pull the top bit up enough to then lift the bottom part past it, you might need a wide screw driver of lever to get it started but it's not too hard. work your way round the seal to the top pulling it from the door and leave it on the outside. Now if you have flipped the seal and window glass like i said at the start all you need to do is push/pull the small glass and seal forwards at the top and it will rotate until you can lift it all out.

You can guess how to change the small glass over to the new seal, but a spay of silicon helps alot when putting the whole thing back on the car, just work back through the instructions. 15 mins easy depending how much cleaning you do.

I have this problem apparently very common I priced them up from hunters Southampton £56 I needed 2 front but as the n/s/f door was rusted and window reg was broken I bought another with it all on and even the colour was the right one 👍 cost me £80 not bad price that. However still have to pay for o/s/f but even with that still saved a packet.
 
Question for Archie382 was the price quoted from Hunters for one window, and do you have the part numbers please?
 
Just bought my first Freelander. This is the first job to tackle if I can source parts. Hopefully as easy as previously said :)
