Window problem

Wound up the front passenger side window the other day, went up nice & quiet as usual, but when it got to the top, it obviously stopped, but the motor didn't & there was a loud 'Bang-Bang Bang from the mechanism as well as the window 'jumping' to the 'banging!!
I imagine some sort of electrical or mechanical 'stop' has failed or gone out of adjustment, BTW, the 'WINDOW NOT SET' has appeared on the dash as well, I can still wind it up & down on the button, but only by keeping it pressed, NOT one-touch, & its fine as long as I stop pressing when its closed!!

Any ideas??

sounds like window regulator has given up,as for the "window not set", take the window all the way down then all the way back up and it should clear,however it will probably return untill you replace the regulator.

Yes as above, you can get them on E Bay as i did and not realy a problem to fit

Got this job to do at the weekend on drivers side as metal has cracked and window stops short of being all the way up. Any tips??
