Winch repairs?

Does anyone know owt about winches...or where parts can be bought? Its not mine but i do use it when needed, It worked ok the other night pulling a car onto a flatbed but yesterday while unreeling the cable it smoked a little from the control box an now it apears to be fooooooked? Is it the solenoids that need replacing or the whole thing?

Sounds like the solenoids, get some albright ones and mount then out of the way. not on the winch. Inner wing is a popular place.
