Winch cable hook end crimp

Hi peeps Been off roading today :D managed to damage me winch hook end :mad: the crimp has a nice split in it does any one know where i can get a replacement crimp fitted in Essex..

FFS don't do a DIY on a winch cable. unless ya want the cable to come thru ya scren and kill ya. A whipping cable will easily cut a man in half.


take it to a crane or lifting gear suppliers and get it repaired professionally.

Use the correct crimp and tool and your DIY repair will be as good as any "specialist" We repair SWR at work all the time, they get weight tested before use but there still put together by a chap who dosent know his arse from his elbow and with steel ferrules and a big ass manual crimp tool.

Actually don't get cable crimpers - there MEGA money!:eek: these are £480 odd quid and they only do 5-6mm our ones at work will do minimum 20mm i believe.

But you do have the proper crimping tool and test facilities?? So hardly DIY?

Have seen crimps closed with an hammer and cold chisel. Or peeps using 2 U bolts and not even a eyelet. :eek:
