Will standard height, heavy duty suspension increase the ride height of my 90?

the suspension on my 90 is starting to look and drive a bit tired.

I am planning on getting new coils, shocks and bushes all round but would like to increase the height slightly. I am hoping if I get heavy duty rather than standard coils, but of standard height, this may lift it slightly without making the handling to atrocious ( better i would guess). Will it make it a bit higher or not?

also whilst im on the subject, what is the general opinion...rubber or polybushes?

if by heavy duty yer mean springs rated fer more weight yer gonna have a reet harsh ride as they wont have enough weight on em to operate properly

just buy some with 25mm lift. wont alter the handling at all... really.

poly/rubber is an ongoing debate, plenty of threads on here about poly though. the old timers on here all prefer rubber ;)

I replaced the rear springs on my 90 ht with the heavier duty ones from the station wagon. The rears a bit harsher going over speed bumps, but I think the handling's improved, definately less lean in the corners. As for ride height, there is a slight raise, about an inch probably. In the end worth it I think.

thanks, i think this is what i will do, im not too bothered about the ride comfort, im only 19 i can handle a harsh ride!

Why don't you go to Cliffs and Brians and get it sorted?
You know. That place where everyone called them"****s". I think it was a place where everyone called them ****s. Some Folks on here really are full off ****.

Harsh ride. **** Off. Anyone who wants an uplift kit or chassis transplant go and see Cliff & Brian at Etherly. You want to see some classics? Go and see what they got through there. Wonderful.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but isn't the answer in the question?
Standard height springs will leave the vehicle in standard height, surely?

I think they will raise the vehicle slightly as although if you had a coil in front of you off the vehicle it would be the same height, when on the vehicle they will compress less under the vehicles weight so the height will be slightly heigher.

well becos that was the idea, that is what i thought would probably be the case when i asked the question and if you see adseybears post previously then he confirms it does appear to lift the vehicle slightly.

erm no its not, becos a ladder doesnt compress like a spring does, does it? so the weight wont affect it. besides if you bother to read the thred it seems that actually heavy duty suspension DOES increase the height slightly.
