is it possible to fit a defender 90 truckcab on a series 3 or wont it fit at all
because im in the market (waiting for a settlement cheque) and looking for a series 3 truckcab project but can only find cheap series 3 80" landys with no lid at all or with a van top is this a way round my issue or is it more trouble than its worth

truck cabs them selves are still pretty easy to get, get any series 3 then unbolt the roof and bolt on a truck cab, i have a full length roof and a truck cab (and plan to get a tilt too) keep an eye out on ebay

unless you have a series 3 109" (lwb) you will need a filler section too but they are available from places like john craddock

also if you get one with a hard top you will need a tailgate for the back (which are available new but are available second hand too)
 
hold on i still need the friggin insurance cheque to clear to get the landy first im just moochin for ideas at the mo but if i can only get me hands on a van body ill just convert it
but i was told that s3 truckcabs were hens teeth so was toying with the idea of a defender cab modification if its possible or not but cheers for pointing the lid out to me from ebay im now watching the item

cheaper ta get series truckcab and a filling strip than a defender truckcab an windscreen.
ask sirus nicely,think he has both lying around at his place,dont think theres a tailgate thou to finish it off is there G-man?
 
the tailgate im not verry fussed about i helped me mate bout 15 yrs ago make one from scratch wich looked the muts nuts and wanna do one for meself and put a thread on here of how i did it for the entertainment of the lovely helpful people on here

it was a long standing trusted freind who i went to school with his dad started and owned green brothers landrover supplies and passed it on to him since they shut the breakers yard and went into just supplying landrover parts he said hes not seen one for the last decade but it seems theyre all in sirus's yard lol

if your on about the series 3 projects complete vehicles i think theyre just asking silly money 2 of them are what they called workhorses meaning to me theyve been unregistered for god knows how long and abused all day long
shame coz i really like the look of the green 1975 petrol landy truck cab its exactly what im looking for but im put off as its got no v5 and the seller still hasnt replied to my question yet wich was only to ask what his reserve was wich will probably be something stupid
