Hi

On stripping my brake system down on my 89 SE Vogue EFi Auto I have come across a plug with two tiny wires and a socket on one pad.

Can anyone tell me what this is as my Range Rover is not ABS. I am led to believe the Range Rover has some kind of Liner thickness warning system is this it? If so how do I rewire it (has anyone done it or has a wire diagram)

Hi charlotte yes it is a pad thickness warning light, not sure if all range rovers were fitted with the sensors and it was only normally 1 per axle, some people fit pads with sensors when the car does not have this system due to the pads being cheaper to buy,i know it sounds silly but the non sensor pads on my disco are dearer than sensor ones so i buy ones with the sensor and cut the wire off,you should have a light on the dash hen the ignition comes on to do a self check on the pads if fitted,as i said depends on model, check both sides of car on each side of axle to see if you can find connector to plug into, the down side with the sensors is that a lot of water ingress would bring the light causing an anoyance so some were left diconected on purpose hope this helps all the best tiga.
