As i'm considering buying a RR i was just wondering why the DHSE 0-60 is 2 secs slower than any other 2.5 DSE, DT or County. Also does anybody know whether there is anything that can be done to prevent the over heating problem?
Cheers Jay

As far as I'm aware the 2.5 BMW diesel engines used in the P38 all have the same power output. The HSE is obviously the highest spec which should mean its the heaviest vehicle, I can only assume that as the vehicles spec decreases the vehicle gets lighter, so will get faster, possibly.

The main difference is probably more down to the weather conditions during/on the test days and individual vehicles more than any other reason.

yeah fella jus b happy your not gonna be rattled to death like me in my defender, or others in their series'!fook the 0-60, get a top spec proper landy and then come here and post questions bout sqeakin belts, dodgy UJ's and fish swimmin in ur footwells!!

Could it be the difference between a manual & an auto?
But as suggested, 0-60 times shouldn't be too big an issue in RR ownership.

Rafa, I liked being rattled around in my series 1 80"/86", 2A, with the water leaks from the roof, a heater that only just worked enough to add more mist to the screen and the general maintenance, but that was years ago.

Now, some of us prefer a more comfortable ride later in life.

How the hell do you water proof your landy enough to keep the fish alive in the footwells???

Where are you getting your figures from?

I totally understand that, was just a general question. cause 2secs is quite a bit of time. but hey like you said it won't matter anyway. the figures are of both parkers and autotrader.

There will be no difference in 0-60 to speak of for different spec apart from manual verses auto. If you want to take about half an hour off your 0-60 then fit a spider box, it gives it about 170bhp and better mpg too.
Anyway, what overheating problem? Aprt from thermostats and waterpump failure then no real problems. (Unless you run it too long with a failed pump etc)
