why does it do this........?

Greetins DISCO citizens.......a mate of mine as a slight problem when steering from start up on his J plate DISCO......When turning left it stiff and once turned right and then left again its all hunkie-dorie.I 've think its the power steering belt and pump, anyone else any idea's......

sounds like the tqf is breaking up.drain the system and replace the fluid . it shouls solve it.

It's the "fluid" in the power steering box.

Could also be steering column universal joint stiff, they give erratic problems of similar nature, but most likely yella disco is spot on with fluid being contaminated or possibly wrong grade and too viscous at low temperature.
