sell as what??????????? thought selling a V5 was illegal

thats wat i was gonna do just thought i see wat u guys had to say, mainly if ppl wanted them for a project other than stolen trucks, i have had one pinched in the past, doesnt mean every one who wants a chassis wants it for a stolen truck which is y i asked the question

to thor1950 i asked basicly if there would be worth selling the chassis with the id and log book, not just the log book as that is illegel and i wouldnt sell it seprate even if it was legal,

its not illegal to sell a logbook as dvla told me after reporting one... apparently there are collectors, using it illegally after purchase is an offence

cheers steve

That may be true of the old styls log books. But it's an offence to scrap/sell or otherwise dispose of a vehicle, without informing DVLA. SO quite how you'd manage to retain the V5 after you've filled in the relevant section and returned it to DVLA, is a fooking mystery to me.

Probably on SORN like my half dismantled 110. I cant decide whether to scrap it or sell it without engine and front axle.:)

Yep that's fine. But once you've decided. By law you must inform DVLA of either the new owners name. or fill in the scrapped vehicle section and return it to DVLA

No problem

thing is ,, peeps think it'll be worth more with a log book so other peeps can stick the reg on summat else like a nicked one or a bitsa:rolleyes:
