Yes I (well my wife and I) are now the proud owners of a Series three of questionable vintage. Apparently a base vehicle at a Nuclear Power plant for most of its life, following a stint as the boat launcher for a Dive club in the North East I recently purchased Beryl (wife's choice) to launch my boat from my friends farm which runs down to the sea.

Two years in the barren wilderness of non-Landrover ownership are beginning to melt into the background and I feel able to hold my head high once again in your company.

Charlie and Winnie (the dogs)
Beryl (the boat launcher)

Cool!

Welcome to the club, and I guess you have an excuse for the lights glowing
dim... all the time.... even when they arn't switched on ;-) Does it come
with a Guiger (sp?) counter and sonar :) I think it's the first Nuclear
submarine landrover we've had in these here parts.

No problems with keeping warm or being seen in the dark then ;-)

If it does, I guess then he can find it in the shopping mall car park
after hours.

Congrats on the truck, but the natives tend to get annoyed by people
posting in HTML, I thought I'd point that out politely before one of
the more grumpy ones moans about it ;-)

And if you ever want to buy a Defender 110 with an upgraded
intercooler in a 300TDi, let me know, mine's up for sale!

Dom (at the unofficial) was telling me about some mine somewhere in which
there's a series III (or might've been a II) which has never seen daylight
since it was new - bought new, delivered, lowered down the mine and been
there ever since. Apparently it's destined to stay there when it's finally
retired, too...

Austin Shackles. www.ddol-las.net my opinions are just that

from the strawbuilt shed, The cock's shrill clarion, or the echoing
horn, No more shall rouse them from their lowly bed."
