Hi all i am new to the site and can anyone help me please. i have a freelander 2004 td4 and have developed a whirring sound which is in time with the engine speed. It is louder when i depress the clutch pedal and can hear it clearly inside the car. Have lifted bonnet and can hardly hear it but have identified it to be at the front of the engine close to the dipstick. Also what is the bottle for nrxt to the dipstick.

Is it fitted with a fuel burning pre-heater? Could be that if so ...
