I have another thread going on at the moment, we went to look at a 4 litre 2000 disco 2 auto but the wife has just said she is a little concerned that when she drove the car there was a whining noise not very loud coming from around the transmission area when you put you foot down on the throttle. There was a slight whining from the front of the engine, the garage said this was either fan tensioner or water pump etc., they will fix it. Could this be causing the noise around the transmission tunnel, is it anything to worry about or is this normal?
