Which way is Up on +2" rear springs

Hi all

I am fitting new uprated +2" springs to my 90. I am fitting them this weekend. I have taken the rears out of the box and have noticed that the spring coil gets closer to the one end on both springs so which way is up tight coil at the top or at the bottom???

Tight coil at the top ther's a reason for it i think it's got to do with progresive coil operation.

I see progressive what??? how come my standard ones are not like this??
