When looking on ebay for stuff for my discover 2 it often asks for which model it is, the choices are always 136hp 100kw or 139hp 102kw, can anyone tell me how I find out which one mine is?

Cheers David

I did not think in reality there is a difference in bhp I thought they were all 136bhp.

In reality the biggest difference is the 10p 15p engine and prefacelift to facelift.

Cheers

I did think that facelift might have came into it. I have been looking for a few things but when looking for a ace removal kit I clicked on both models to see if it fitted both, it didn't, that got me thinking I should find out which one mine is before I buy anything off ebay.

When I removed the ACE from my 51 plate Discovery
This was my parts list (I had A/C)

RBL101370 Non ACE front Anti Roll bar
RBX101690 Front Anti Roll Bar Bush x 2
RBU100240 Anti Roll Bar Bracket x 4
RBM100223 Front Anti Roll Bar Drop Link x 2
RGB101320 Non ACE rear Anti Roll bar
RGD100682 Rear Anti Roll Bar Drop Link x 2
ERR6949 Idler Pulley
PQS101500 Aux Drive Belt (Non ACE with A/C)

Check what your engine number is for a start.
Also confirm your VIN number

From that you should be able to order most things.

Cheers

Yeah I have used the VIN from normal suppliers but cant input that on ebay. I will have a look at the engine number in the morning.

Normally if you have a parts kit number then a lot of the direct websites will tell you of comparability .

Facelift iirc VIN started a 3A.

Cheers

Cheers Biggeeee, I am ordering the parts separate as you did, pump is off already and idler on. Quick question going off topic, do you know if they are those the correct ARB's for a discovery with the air suspension removed? That's a thought I had today as mine has had it removed and I had noticed that there are two type, one for and one with out. Cheers

The ones on my list were for the Air suspension.

You'll also need to tell the vehicle that you have removed the ACE or the warning light will be permanently lit until switched off with a Diagnostic reader or there may be a wiring mod

The Td5 engine in it's standard fit as installed from new is classed as developing 136 bhp.
I've never had a problem in choosing the vehicle type when I'm on the bay looking for bits.
The only time I ever had to ask a supplier for help was when I ordered a cam cover gasket and I quoted the engine number to indicate whether it was a 10p or a 15p engine. Apparently there are some outline differences for that gasket.
But that's all.

Likewise, 11 years of ownership and never had a problem

Well from what I can see of that link. It does not show the engine bhp. It states OK for 98 to 04.

Cheers

Ahhhh, this is the first time I have opened it on the computer, I had been using my phone, on there it takes you through a different process, at the very top of the page it asks you to put in your vehicles details and the choices I put on my original posts come up. Cheers

Remember and sell the pump and valve block, there are beginning to be worth money as more people are modding the block and having pipework made up.
