Which Landrover

Hi folks,
Can anybody offer some advice regarding which Discovery 1 or 2/Range rover classic, petrol or diesel? I will only be using the car as 2nd vehicle just for running around and weekends away. Not really any heavy off roading either. I am looking for reliability/comfort i will only do about 5k miles a year. :doh:

I guess it more comes down to how the cars have been treated (or not) in the past as to what one will be best.
I do not know R Rovers at all, but old disco's suffer from rust underneath. Chassis is usually good, but the body mounts, floor,boot floor, sills and inner panels are prone to rust.
I do not know td5, but the 200 and 300 tdi's are good work horses.

so why do u need a 4x4?
there not comfy
there not reliable
maybe a gaylander may suit your needs
